MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: Three new matchups added to UFC Fight Night 124

UFC officials announced three-matchups for its upcoming Jan. 14 event at Scottrade Center in St. Louis for UFC Fight Night 124. In the welterweight division, Zak Cummings faces Thiago Alves. Marco Polo Reyes takes on Matt Frevola in a lightweight bout and James Krause battles Alex White in the 155-pound division.

Cummings (21-5 ) has won back-to-back fights over Alexander Yakovlev and Nathan Coy. The 33-year-old will look for his first three-fight win streak in the UFC. Alves (22-11) snapped a two-fight losing streak, earning a decision victory over Patrick Cote at UFC 210 in April. The former UFC title challenger was slated to face Mike Perry in September before a hurricane in Florida delayed those plans.

Reyes (7-4) heads into this matchup coming off a TKO loss to James Vick but has won four of his last five fights. Frevola (6-0) defeated Jose Flores at DWCS 8 in August to earn his UFC contract.

Krause (24-7) is coming off a decision victory over Tom Gallicchio at welterweight which pushed his winning streak to three straight. White (12-3) is coming off a TKO victory over Mitch Clarke at UFC 215 in September. Here’s an updated look at the card:
