Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 111 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 111 is a five-round welterweight bout between Gabriel Bonfim and Randy Brown. Bonfim has been in the UFC since 2023, and he has gone 5-1 since joining the world’s leading MMA promotion. Bonfim has won his last three fights heading into this bout, including a controversial split decision win over Stephen Thompson in his last bout. As for Brown, he has been in the UFC since 2016, and he has an overall record of 14-6 in the promotion. He has been one of the most underrated welterweights for many years and is finally getting his shot to headline a card inside the Octagon. Brown has the tools to win this bout, but given Bonfim’s skills and talent, he opened up as the betting favorite in this bout.
- The co-main event of UFC Vegas 111 is a flyweight bout between TUF 33 champion Joseph Morales and veteran Matt Schnell. Morales went 1-2 during his first UFC stint, but returned to the promotion after recently winning The Ultimate Fighter with an impressive finish as a big underdog against Alibi Idiris. As for Schnell, he has a 7-7, 1 NC UFC record. While Schnell is a fun fighter to watch, Morales is the clear favorite to win this bout.
