Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2023: Week 7:

  • In a PFL lightweight semifinal fight, Bubba Jenkins takes on Jesus Pinedo. Jenkins is 7-2 overall in PFL, and he’s 2-0 so far this season with wins over Sung Bin Jo and Chris Wade. He is arguably the strongest wrestler in the field and we know that wrestling advantage is critical to winning in MMA. As for Pinedo, he is coming off of a massive upset when he knocked out last season’s champion Brendan Loughnane with a body shot. This should be an interesting fight to watch play out as Pinedo is a live dog on the feet, but it feels like it’s most likely that Jenkins will just be able to take him down at will and control the fight for a decision victory.
  • In the co-main event, Josh Silveira takes on Ty Flores at light heavyweight. Silveira is 4-1 overall in PFL including two wins this season over Delan Monte and Sam Kei. As for Flores, he is 2-0 overall in PFL and he’s won his last four fights in a row overall. Flores is a pretty underrated fighter, but Silveira is a legitimate prospect and he should win this fight. Silveira lively even has a chance to get the finish in this spot as a sizeable favorite.
