Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Nashville:

  • The main event of UFC Nashville sees Cory Sandhagen and Rob Font go at it for five rounds or less in a 140 lbs catchweight. Sandhagen enters this fight having beaten Marlon Vera and Song Yadong in his last two fights, while Font enters the contest following an upset knockout win over Adrian Yanez. Both men are very talented and experienced and they love to stand in the center of the Octagon and bang it out. I envision this fight being a standup war where both men land big shots throughout, and you might see some grappling, too. Sandhagen is better able to mix up his attacks, and that’s why you see him as the betting favorite in this fight.
  • In the co-main event, Tatiana Suarez moves back down to 115 lbs when she takes on Jessica Andrade. Suarez returned to the cage earlier this year after four years away and submitted Montana De La Rosa at flyweight. She now moves back down to strawweight where she takes on the former champ Andrade. And she’s catching Andrade at a good time, as she’s lost two straight fights by stoppage. Suarez should have a massive grappling advantage in this fight, and that’s why you see her as a massive betting favorite to win it.
