Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 164:

  • The main event of LFA 164 sees Sabina Mazo fight Sandra Lavado for the vacant LFA women’s flyweight title. Mazo is fighting for the first time since the UFC released her following a three-fight losing skid, but overall she had a 3-4 record in the Octagon, so there’s clearly a lot of talent here. She is 4-0 overall in LFA and now returns to battle for the vacant belt at 125 lbs, a belt she once held. As for Lavado, this is her first fight for LFA but she has competed in PFL and on Dana White’s Contender Series in the past. Although Lavado is a scrappy fighter, Mazo should be the more effective striker in this fight and she is the favorite for that reason.
  • Also on the card is a welterweight bout between Jalin Fuller and Daniel Frunza. Fuller has a 6-3 record in LFA overall with five of those wins coming by stoppage. As for Frunza, he is making his LFA debut here and comes into this bout having won his last two fights by knockout. Given his experience fighting for LFA, you have to lean toward Fuller here. He is only a small favorite, though, showing that the books are giving the underdog a chance to win.
