399 John Lineker vs. John Dodson headlines UFC Fight Night 96 UFC officials announced Saturday that John Lineker vs. John Dodson will headline UFC Fight Night 96 in Portland. Lineker (28-7) heads into this matchup off a five fight winning streak and is 3-0 since moving back up to bantamweight. He’s coming into this matchup off a knockout victory over Michael McDonald at UFC Fight Night 91. Dodson (18-7) moved up to bantamweight division earlier this year and knocked out Manny Gamburyan in 47 seconds at UFC on FOX 19. UFC Fight Night 96 takes place from the Moda Center on October 1st in Portland, Oregon. Here’s an updated look at a card. Penn and Riciardo Lamas as the main event of UFN Fight Night 97, which is scheduled to take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on Oct. 15. Penn (16-10-2) was originally supposed to fight to fight Dennis Siver, then Cole Miller, before he was slapped with a six-month suspension from USADA after he disclosed the use of an IV infusion in excess of 50 mL in a six-hour period during an out-of-competition drug test taken on March 25. Penn hasn’t won a fight since 2010. Lamas (16-5) heads into this matchup off a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway at UFC 199 in June.    UFC Fight Night 95 adds Thiago Santos vs. Eric Spicely, makes several other changes.  A middleweight matchup between Thiago Santos and Eric Spicely has been added to UFC Fight Night 95. In addition Renato Carneiro, Brandon Thatch, Joaquim Silva and Shinsho Anzai have been pulled off the card due to injuries. Carneiro was slated to face Mike De La Torre and will now be replaced by Godofredo Pepey. In addition Erick Silva now meets Luan Chagas and Glaico Franca will be replacing Joaquim Silva against Gregor Gillespie. Moisés (8-1) heads into this matchup off a successful title defense against Jamall Emmers at RFA 38, where he knocked him out in the fifth round. Freeman (8-1) makes  RFA debut and is coming off a submission win against Zac Kelly at Rumble Time Promotions in March of last year.
