UFC Fight Night 88’s Sara McMann: ‘The smarter, more experienced fighter will win’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 88 bantamweight Sara McMann as she prepares for her preliminary card bout this Sunday night (May 29, 2016) against Jessica Eye at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The former Olympic silver medal-winning wrestler is coming off two losses, but she’s heading into this bout unfazed with a wrestler’s mentality come fight time:

“I think it will be a good fight. It’ll be a tough fight. [Jessica Eye] likes to brawl and where I take the fight will be what determines things. We’re both tough, we both can hit but the smarter, more experienced fighter will be the one that wins.”

McMann has a unique perspective on Ronda Rousey bouncing back from her loss to Holly Holm because she was put in the exact same position when she lost to Rousey in 2014:

“I think sometimes in fighting, you feel more invincible and then you realize you’re not invincible. Some fighters can work through that and get back on top and some can’t. You never know until you get back in there what you’re gonna be. Are you gonna come back in there, throw caution to the wind and fight exactly the same or are you going to be more cautious, more diligent and will that change the fighter you are? We won’t know that until we see it and even Ronda probably doesn’t know that. She’ll know it when she gets there.”
