Pair of Parlays for UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville

Chris CamozziUFC Fight Night 73 Date: August 8, 2015 Arena: Bridgestone Arena City: Nashville, TN The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Nasvhille, TN for the third time in promotional history this Saturday (August 8, 2015) for UFC Fight Night 73: Saint Preux vs Teixeira. The 13-fight card will get going with Fight Pass prelims at 6:30pm, with FOX Sports 2 prelims to follow at 8pm and main card action being live at 10pm ET on FOX Sports 1. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my pair of parlays for UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville: Middleweight bout: Chris Camozzi (-155) vs Tom Watson (+135) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is without a doubt a “loser goes home” match-up, as I would have trouble seeing the loser get another crack, even if they put up a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance. Inside the Octagon, neither 185-pounder has been impressive for a long time and this seems like brilliant matchmaking on behalf of Joe Silva to get send one of them on the road. I think it will be Watson who ends up on the losing end of this scrap and receives the pink slip for the promotion. He is a striker, but the inferior striker of the two, and he is at a size and reach disadvantage in this match-up. Plus, of the two, he is the one who appears to be on a decline. While Camozzi has shown zero improvement in his wrestling, he isn’t on a decline and could still hang on the feet with some of the best in the division. I think Camozzi should be a -230 betting favorite in this contest, so I like him at his current asking price of -155. Gabe’s Call: Camozzi by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Bantamweight bout: Marlon Vera (-125) vs Roman Salazar (+105) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Vera is the better fighter with the bigger heart and I think he gets it done this Saturday night, however this is more of a fade on Salazar than it is a bet on Vera. I think Vera has potential, while I am not at all sold on Salazar. Even after quitting his job as a cable guy and training full time, I don’t think he has yet developed the skillset to hang in there even with the lower tier of the UFC’s 135-pound division. I think Vera should be a -180 favorite in this spot, so I’ll take the -125 and include it as my second leg for this three-way parlay for UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville. Gabe’s Call: Vera by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Lightweight bout: Anthony Christodoulou (+525) vs Scott Holtzman (-750) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this is going to be a completely one sided affair dominated by the promotional newcomer Holtzman. He is undoubtedly the superior mixed martial artist heading into this bout, and whether it lasts one minute or goes all three rounds, I think it will be pure domination. That said, I think Holtzman will make quick work of Christodoulou. Even at his juicy price of -750, I think there is enough value to include him in this three-teamer for Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Holtzman by Submission (rear naked choke, 1:49 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlays: 1) Camozzi (-155), Vera (-125) and Holtzman (-750) at +235 for 3.25u to win 7.65u, 2) Camozzi/Watson Over 2.5 rounds (-250) and Christodoulou/Holtzman Under 1.5 rounds (+135) at +229 1.35u to win 3.09u
