UFC 183’s Ian McCall: ‘Lineker swings so hard that takedowns will be easy’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 183 flyweight Ian McCall about his upcoming preliminary card bout this Saturday night (Jan. 31, 2015) against John Lineker at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The talented 125-pounder isn’t at a loss for confidence as his bout against the Brazilian knockout artist nears, and that’s due to what he feels is a significant grappling advantage:

“I’m gonna finish him in the second round by submission. He swings so hard with every punch that a takedown is gonna be easy. He’s gonna go straight in there swinging and it might not even be a shot. It might be a body lock. I take everyone down from the clinch. I’ll put him on his ass and pound him out. In the second round, it’ll probably be the same thing. I’ll be lighting him up on the feet and somewhere in there I’ll end up submitting him. His jiu-jitsu doesn’t suck, but at the same time, mine is way better. I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to do that.”
