Bellator number one LHW contender Liam McGeary: ‘That inverted triangle was tight’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator light heavyweight number one contender Liam McGeary following his impressive inverted triangle submission victory against Kelly Anundson last month (September 12, 2014) at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township, Michigan.

The final Bellator tournament winner was able to secure his title shot by scoring a rare inverted triangle choke submission and he decribed his recent victory in detail:

“That [inverted] triangle was tight. My leg went right in front of him and it was right underneath his chin and his arm was folded. His arm was trapped to finish off the triangle and I squeezed my legs together as tight as I possibly could. I think in the video you could see a bit of spit coming out of his mouth. I thought I’d have it on a bit longer, but he tapped straight away, like 2-3 seconds I think.”
