UFC Fight Night 35’s Charlie Brenneman: ‘I go for the finish more as a lightweight”

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 35 lightweight Charlie Brenneman as he prepares for his preliminary card bout next Wednesday night (Jan. 15, 2013) against Beneil Dariush at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.

The AMA Fight Club member is making his return to Ultimate Fighting Championship after a little over a year away. Brenneman dropped to the lightweight division in the interim and has become considerably more dangerous as a result:

“The biggest thing that’s different at 155 versus 170 is I’m going for the finish more at 155. At 170, I was fighting these monsters. I was fighting these monsters where once I got them to the mat, it was like, “At all costs, do not let them off the ground.” With guys at 155, I don’t feel in my head as much because on my feet I feel much more confident than against 170 pounders.”
