MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: George Sullivan flagged by USADA, faces second UFC anti-doping policy violation

480 George Sullivan flagged by USADA, faces second UFC anti-doping policy violation UFC officials announced Thursday that welterweight George Sullivan is facing a second UFC anti-doping policy violation and has been removed from his Feb. 11th matchup against Randy Brown at UFC 208. The positive test stems from a sample collected Jan. 14. Sullivan (17-5-NC) made a post on Facebook saying there was “misunderstanding about a fertility pill” that he was taking three weeks ago. He’s the first athlete to be flagged by USADA twice since  July 2015 when they became the UFC’s anti-doping partner. He didn’t actually  fail a drug test the first time, but was suspended one year after admitting the use of a product that contained the banned substance The 35-year old is currently serving a one-year suspension by USADA, is now suspended on top of that.   Stay tuned to MMAOddsBreaker as the UFC looks for a new opponent for Brown.
