UFC Fight Night 98’s Ricardo Lamas: ‘Win over (Oliveira) is going to bring me a step closer to title’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 98 featherweight Ricardo Lamas as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (November 5, 2016) against Charles Oliveira at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Chicago native discusses the cancellation of his main event fight against B.J. Penn at UFC Fight Night 97, his matchup with Oliveira and a potential title fight versus Conor McGregor:

“(Winning this fight) is definitely a much larger step up than it would be with a victory over B.J. Penn. B.J.’s only had one fight at 145, which he lost against Frankie Edgar. He’s not ranked. He’s  huge name, but it’s just a feather in the cap. With Oliveira, he’s ranked in the Top 10, and a win over him is going to bring me a step closer to that title. A win over Oliveira, one or two wins after that against top-ranked guys, and I’m right back in there.”
