Fights to Avoid Betting for UFC Fight Night 98

marco_polo_reyesUFC Fight Night 98: Dos Anjos vs. Ferguson Date: November 5, 2016 Arena: Mexico City Arena City: Mexico City, Mexico The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to make its return to Mexico City, Mexico with UFC Fight Night 98: Dos Anjos vs. Ferguson this Saturday, November 8th. The 13-fight card is set to kick off on UFC Fight pass at 6:30 p.m. (ET) with preliminary action, which will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. and culminate into the main card on the same channel at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakers. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Lightweight bout: Claudio Puelles (-120) vs. Martin Bravo (+100) Gabe’s Thoughts: In short, I think there are many questions surrounding both fighters heading into their UFC debuts, so I think it is best to keep our wallets away from this one. I say just sit back, enjoy and avoid this one at the betting window this weekend. Gabe’s Call: Puelles by Unanimous Decision (30-29, 30-29, 30-29) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Lightweight bout: Marco Polo Reyes (-175) vs. Jason Novelli (+155) Gabe’s Thoughts: This fight is tough to call. Reyes has a good chin and good recovery, but I think Novelli is capable of stopping him early. However, if he fails to do so, I think Reyes will have a decent chance of stopping Novelli in rounds two or three, where I think Reyes’ superior cardio may make the difference. I think both outcomes are very realistic, so i expect it to come down to whether Novelli will manage to put the Mexican fighter away in front of his home crowd in the opening stanza. Should he fail to do so, he will likely fall to 0-2 inside the Octagon. This is a rare “winner vs. loser” matchup in the UFC’s lightweight division, considering the fact that Novelli is coming off a knockout loss to David Teymur and is taking on Reyes, who is coming off a knockout win over the 155-pound Dong Hyun Kim. At the current odds, I see no value in either fighet for a play. However, I would keep an eye out for the props for Novelli in Round 1 and Reyes in Round 3. As for a straight play, I think it’s best to avoid this scrap come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Reyes by T/KO (punches, 3:13 round 3) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
