Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Dana White’s Contender Series 91:

  • The light heavyweights headline the DWCS 91 card as Arlind Berisha takes on Quentin Pasley. Berisha is 5-0 so far in his MMA career, with all five of his wins coming by first-round stoppage. He has been looking great lately and could be a nice addition to the UFC light heavyweight division if he’s signed, as the 205 lbs weight class is among the shallowest in the UFC. As for Pasley, he is 3-0 with all three of his wins coming by knockout, but he hasn’t fought a high level of competition so far, and this is a big step up in competition. Berisha is the betting favorite in this one, and it seems to be justified given he has more experience as a pro and has fought better opponents.
  • In the co-main event, we have welterweights Isaac Moreno and Reginaldo Junior going at it. Moreno is undefeated with an 8-0 record, and he comes to DWCS from Fury FC. He is coming off back-to-back wins over former UFC fighters Darian Weeks and Melvin Guillard to get this shot on DWCS. As for Junior, he is 11-1 in his career, and he is riding a five-fight win streak in LFA. He also looks like a solid prospect, but overall, it’s difficult to go against Moreno given that he has never lost before in his career.
