Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Freedom 250 Opening Odds:
- In the main event of UFC Freedom 250, UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria takes on interim champ Justin Gaethje. Topuria is one of the best P4P fighters in MMA, and he is coming off a brutal knockout win over Charles Oliveira last year to become a two-division UFC champion. As for Gaethje, he just beat Paddy Pimblett to win the interim UFC lightweight title while Topuria was on the sidelines due to personal issues. As good as Gaethje looked in that fight, Topuria is seen as unstoppable, and he opened up as a massive favorite to win this fight.
- In the co-main event, the interim UFC heavyweight title is on the line between Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira. Gane is coming off a No Contest against Tom Aspinall after he poked him in the eye, and the fight could not continue. After Aspinall had eye surgery, the UFC was forced to create an interim belt as he has no return date, and Pereira decided to vacate the UFC light heavyweight title and move up to fight Gane. Pereira was last seen knocking out Magomed Ankalaev to win his belt back, so he comes into this fight with tons of momentum. The oddsmakers opened up Gane as the favorite for this fight, but the early money has come in on Pereira, and he is now favored to get the win and collect a UFC belt in a third weight class.
