Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 299:
- The main event of Bellator 299 features Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen taking on top contender Fabian Edwards. Eblen has won all 13 of his career fights, including nine straight wins inside the Bellator cage. As for Edwards, he is the brother of UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards. He has a 7-2 record in Bellator including wins in his last four fights. While Edwards is a solid fighter, you have to lean toward the champion Eblen to defend his title in this matchup.
- Also on the card is a featherweight bout between Aaron Pico and Pedro Carvalho. Pico won his last fight and he has won seven of his last eight bouts overall. He might not be the top prospect that he once was but he is still a very dangerous fighter. As for Carvalho, he has lost two of his last three fights heading into this bout. Even though Carvalho has pulled off a few upsets, it’s hard to see him getting past someone as dangerous as Pico.
