Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Road To UFC: Season 2, Episode 5

  • At featherweight, we have Li Kaiwen taking on Kouya Kanda. Kaiwen is coming off of a knockout win back at the Road to UFC card in May, and overall he has won five of his last six fights by way of knockout. He is a longtime veteran of ONE Championship and he racked up a lot of experience in that promotion. As for Kanda, he has won his last four fights in a row which includes a win at Road to UFC back in May. Due to Kaiwen having far more experience against a higher level of competition, it makes sense that he is the favorite in this fight.
  • At flyweight, Seung Guk Choi takes on Jiniushiyue. Choi is coming off a win in Road to UFC, and he actually has UFC experience, losing a fight in the promotion earlier this year. As for Jiniushiyue, he has won his last six fights in a row heading into this bout in Road to UFC. Once again, it’s not an easy fight to call, and the Pick ’em odds reflect the fact it’s a close fight. This whole card is littered with fights that could realistically go either way between unproven fighters, and this is one of them, so we caution you to tread lightly with your bets on this card.
