Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 77 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 77 is a women’s bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and Mayra Bueno Silva. Holm recently returned to the Octagon and she defeated Yana Santos by decision to jump back into the win column after a controversial split decision loss to Ketlen Vieira last year. Overall, she has won three of her last four fights. As for Silva, she has looked exceptional as of late, having won her last three fights in a row. Silva has a good chance to pull off the upset here given she is far younger and super talented. That being said, Holm is still very solid herself and she opened up as the betting favorite for this bout.
- As for the co-main event, it’s a middleweight bout between Albert Duraev and JunYong Park. Duraev is coming off of a split decision win over Chidi Njokuani in his last fight and overall he is 2-1 in the UFC. As for Park, he has won his last three fights in a row and six of his last seven bouts heading into this contest. The oddsmakers opened this up as Pick ’em.
