Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2022: Week 8:
- For this week’s PFL card, we have the heavyweights and the welterweights in action in their respective semifinals. In the welterweight division, we have Magomed Umalatov taking on Rory MacDonald. Umalatov is coming off of a brutal KO win over Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi in his last fight, and overall he is unbeaten in his MMA career at 12-0. As for MacDonald, he is coming off of a decision loss to Sadibou Sy and overall he has lost three of his last four fights. Although MacDonald is a legend of the sport, he has not looked the same in the last couple of years, and Umalatov enters this fight as the clear favorite to get his hand raised and move on.
- As for the heavyweights, we have Renan Ferreira taking on Ante Delija. Ferreira is coming off of a decision loss to Klidson Abreu which snapped a five-fight unbeaten streak for the Brazilian. As for Delija, he is coming off of back-to-back wins and he has won four of his last five fights overall. This should be another competitive fight and the oddsmakers opened up the odds closely for a reason. Ferreira is the slight favorite, but Delija can certainly win this fight.
