Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 284:

  • The main event of Bellator 284 is a welterweight bout between Neiman Gracie and Goiti Yamauchi. Gracie is coming off of a decision loss to Logan Storley in his last fight and overall he has lost three of his last five bouts, albeit to solid competition. As for Yamauchi, he is coming off of back-to-back stoppage wins and he has won five of his last six overall. This should be a fun fight in the Bellator welterweight division. With Gracie being the bigger man and having more experience at welterweight, he opened up as the favorite here, but Yamauchi has been one of Bellator’s most underrated fighters for years and he has a chance to win.
  • Also on the card is a heavyweight bout between Valentin Moldavsky and Steve Mowry. Moldavsky is coming off of a decision loss to Ryan Bader which snapped a six-fight win streak for him. As for Mowry, he is unbeaten at 10-0 and he is now getting the chance to prove to the world that he is an elite heavyweight prospect. Moldavsky opened up as the betting favorite here, but Mowry certainly has a chance to win this fight.
