UFC Vegas 10: Alan Patrick vs Bobby Green Betting Prediction

This looks like a great card for betting and I’m particularly interested in the lightweight clash between Alan Patrick and Bobby Green. Both fighters have contrasting styles and it will be interesting to see what happens when they lock horns this weekend.

Alan Patrick

Since getting whooped by Scott Holtzman in 2018, Alan Patrick has taken a long layoff. Now returning to action at 37-years-of-age, it’s hard to say what his aspirations are regarding the rest of his career.

At his best, “Nuguette” is a suffocating blanket. Making use of his immense size and physicality, Patrick has smothered and controlled numerous UFC lightweights.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t fare very well when facing competent defensive wrestlers who force him to contend on the feet.

The Brazilian has a serviceable outside kicking game with lots of feints and awkward movement, but he lacks basic boxing fundamentals. The way he overextended on punches in his last fight and got countered, it made Holtzman look like Floyd Mayweather!

Bobby Green

Bobby Green is somewhat lackadaisical and low volume, but he boxes with precision and should be able to capitalize on the many defensive openings left by Patrick.

Additionally, Green has excellent takedown defense and a stellar get up game. He did get held against the fence for periods against Clay Guida, but Patrick is more of a suffocating BJJ player than tenacious cage wrestler.

Unless he can rack up points at kicking range without getting his noggin cracked, I have a tough time seeing Patrick winning this fight – particularly in the small octagon.

The one concern for Green is that he mentioned injuring his hand after his recent victory over Lando Vannata. Whether he’s at 100% for this contest remains to be seen.

Green isn’t a big puncher, so I think we see the scorecards more often than not.

Pick: Bobby Green by decision -110
