LFA 66 takes place at Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah, on Friday (May. 10, 2019) at 9 p.m. ET live on AXS TV. TUF 27’s Tyler Diamond competes for the first time since last July against Jon Neal in the main event.
Diamond (9-1) is coming off his first career loss to Bryce Mitchell at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale where he suffered a majority decision setback. The 28-year-old Team Alpha Male member was ousted from TUF 27 after losing to Jay Cucciniello by third round TKO in the semi-finals. Prior to that, Diamond was 8-0 in his career finishing six of his opponents. Neal (10-0) competes for the first time since Apr. 2017 and makes his LFA debut. The 30-year-old made his professional MMA debut in May 2008 and has finished his last six opponents.
In the co-main event features a pair of UFC veterans in Josh Burkman facing William Macario
Burkman (28-17) will be looking for his first win since Feb. 2016 when he defeated KJ Noons at UFC Fight Night 82. The 38-year-old has lost five-straight fights and has been finished in his last three bouts. Macario (9-4) has gone 2-1 since he was released from the UFC in 2015. The 27-year-old is coming off a second-round submission loss to Ramiz Brahimaj in his LFA debut last August and will look to avoid back-to-back losses for the second time in his career.
