Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Road to UFC: Singapore Episode 1:
- There are several notable matchups taking place at Road to UFC: Singapore Episode 1. In a light heavyweight bout, George Tokkos takes on Mingyang Zhang. Tokkos is a British-born fighter who trains at Sanford MMA, so he doesn’t really fit in with the theme of these cards. That being said, he is one of the most experienced fighters competing at the Road to UFC: Singapore events, and he definitely has a chance to secure a UFC contract with a good showing here. Tokkos is coming off of three straight wins, including back-to-back finishes in Fury FC prior to entering this contest. As for Zhang, he is a Chinese fighter who has won his last eight fights in a row with all of those wins coming by way of stoppage. He has quite a bit of experience, including a KO loss on his record to current UFC fighter Askar Mozharov. Overall, Tokkos has fought the better competition, and he opened up as a sizeable favorite here.
- Also on the card is a flyweight bout between Rama Supandhi and Seung Guk Choi. Supandhi is an Indonesia-based fighter who is riding a two-fight win streak in the ONE Pride organization. As for Choi, he trains with the Korean Zombie in South Korea and he has won three straight fights. Despite being the underdog, I would take a look at Choi to win this fight.
