Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Road to UFC: Singapore Episode 2:

  • One of the notable bouts on this card is a flyweight bout between Shaun Etchell and Takeru Uchida. Etchell is an Australian fighter who has won his last two fights, with his last bout taking place in the Eternal MMA promotion. Etchell has been a pro dating back to 2012, so he has a ton of experience and time in the game heading into this bout. As for Uchida, the 19-year-old native of Japan has won his last four fights in a row while competing in Shooto. I am intrigued by Uchida due to his age, but Etchell is the favorite here due to having more pro experience.
  • Also on the card is a lightweight bout between Aili Muratbek and Pawan Maan Singh. Muratbek is a Chinese fighter who has won his last nine fights in a row, with many of those victories coming by way of stoppage. As for Singh, he is an Indian fighter who is coming into this bout on a four-fight unbeaten streak while competing for promotions such as the Super Fight League. Neither guy has fought a high level of competition, so it’s hard to get a read on how good they actually are. However, with Muratbek coming into this fight on such a long win streak, he opened up as the betting favorite here by the bookies.
