Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2022: Week 3:
- This week’s PFL card features women’s lightweights and the welterweights, plus a lightweight bout involving Anthony Pettis. Starting with the women’s lightweight fights, we have Kayla Harrison once again headlining a PFL card. Harrison has been utterly dominant so far in PFL so it is no surprise to see her once again open as a massive favorite. Although Mokhnatkina is one of the better opponents that Harrison has fought thus far in her career, Harrison is still such a dominant grappler that she’s almost always going to automatically be favored to win.
- In the welterweight division, we have former champion Ray Cooper III taking on Carlos Leal. Cooper has won his last six fights in a row and he hasn’t lost since John Howard knocked him out back in July 2019. Since then, Cooper has been destroying everyone in his path. Leal, meanwhile, has won both of his fights since joining PFL earlier this year, which earned him a spot in the tournament as a replacement for the injured Magomed Umalatov. Although Leal is not a big name, he is a very dangerous fighter, and Cooper needs to take him seriously.
- As mentioned, Pettis is on this card against Myles Price. Pettis should be the comfortable favorite to win this fight, although he has not lived up to expectations in PFL thus far.
