MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Full UFC 159 Odds Released

Sara McMannThe full UFC 159 odds were released today through Several Bookmakers, and, as always, MMA Oddsbreaker has you covered. Here are the full odds: ——————– MAIN CARD Jon Jones -975 Chael Sonnen +675 Michael Bisping -180 Alan Belcher +140 Roy Nelson -230 Cheick Kongo +170 Phil Davis -280 Vinny Magalhaes +200 Jim Miller -305 Pat Healy +225 ——————– PRELIMINARY CARD (FX) Erik Perez -190 Johnny Bedford +150 Ovince St. Preux -175 Gian Villante +135 Sara McMann -535 Sheila Gaff +355 Rustam Khabilov -310 Yancy Medeiros +230 ——————– PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook) Leonard Garcia -160 Cody McKenzie +120 Nick Catone -130 James Head -110 Kurt Holobaugh -140 Steven Siler +100 ——————– As far as how the lines have moved since they released — at least the new ones that came out today — so far there’s been some interesting movement. The public has so far come in on Jim Miller, who opened at -305 but who is now -350. His opponent, Pat Healy, opened at +225 but is now +250. The public has also come in on Sara McMann, who opened at -535. The public has parlayed here and she’s now a -750 favorite, while her opponent, Sheila Gaff, has moved from +355 to +450. Ovince St-Preux opened at -175 but is now at -215, while his opponent Gian Villante opened at +135 but is now +165. But the biggest moves of them all came on the Facebook prelims. In the welterweight fight between Nick Catone and James Head, Catone opened as a -130 favorite but the line flipped as he’s now +135, and his opponent James Head, who opened at -110, is now a decent-sized -175 favorite. And in the first fight of the night, Kurt Holobaugh opened at -140 but is now sitting out there at +110, while Steven Siler, who opened at +100, is now a -150 favorite. We won’t know if the public is on the right side or not until fight day, but my feeling is that they might be on the wrong track in a few of the fights, especially the Catone/Head and Holobaugh/Siler matchups. One fight hasn’t has odds released for it yet, and that’s the bantamweight bout between Bryan Caraway and Johnny Bedford. The reason for this is because it was only announced today that Erik Perez was injured and that Caraway was taking over for him the fight, so you can expect the odds for Caraway vs. Bedford to pop up on Several Bookmakers shortly. This fight is pretty closely contested but the fact that Caraway doesn’t have a full training camp will hurt him. Bettors can expect The MMA Oddscast in the middle of the weeks as well as a flurry of other betting-related content, including videos, previews, interviews, and more. Odds for Rousey/Zingano Released In addition to the full lines for UFC 159, the line for upcoming UFC women’s bantamweight championship between champion Ronda Rousey and No. 1 contender Cat Zingano was released at Several Bookmakers. To see how the line was opened, watch this video. Rousey opened as a large favorite  — not a surprise — and her line opened on Several Bookmakers at -825, while Zingano, not shockingly, is a giant favorite at +475. It’s a fight that’s clearly Rousey’s to lose but at the large odds perhaps it’s worth taking a shot on Zingano is you believe in her, although I personally didn’t and laid the juice on her on the MMA Oddsbreaker show.
