Erik-PerezUFC 201: Lawler vs Woodley Date: July 30, 2016 Arena: Philips Arena City: Atlanta, GA The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Atlanta, GA for the third time in promotional histor with UFC 201: Lawler vs Woodley. The action packed 12 fight card is set to kick off on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm ET with preliminary action, which will continue on FOX Sprots 2 at 8pm ET. Main card action will be live on Pay Per View at 10pm ET. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Over/Under Totals are: Bantamweight bout: Erik Perez (-125) vs Francisco Rivera (+105) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is an excellent pairing of two battle tested veterans in the UFC’s bantamweight division and this match-up certainly has “fireworks” written all over it. A likely front runner for the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, I expect both fighters to leave it all inside the Octagon in an effort to get their hands raised. I believe this is a coin-flip match-up and it is very hard for me to pick a side. However, I do think this fight hits the judges’ scorecards more often than not, which makes me like the Total of Over 1.5 rounds at -210. Both fighters have good chins and I think they hold up more often than not; and it is possible that Perez could score a submission, but I am betting against it. Gabe’s Call: Perez by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (-210) 2.1u to win 1u Heavyweight bout: Anthony Hamilton (-130) vs Damien Grabowski (+110) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this will be a closely contested match-up in the UFC’s heavyweight division. I am in complete agreement with the current betting odds, as I do believe that Hamilton should be slightly favored heading into the contest. That means I see no value in him at the current odds, however I do think the Total of Over 1.5 rounds holds some value at -135, as I see these heavyweights going past the 1.5 round mark more often than not. I am anticipating a lackluster affair that takes place largely against the cage and on the mat. I could see either fighter getting his hand raised, but I do favor the Jackson-Wink MMA fighter Hamilton. Gabe’s Call: Hamilton by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (-135) 1.35u to win 1u
