Chad Mendes receives two-year suspension from USADA USADA announced Wednesday that top featherweight Chad Mendes has been suspended two-years for a positive out of competition drug test on May 17th Mendes (17-4) tested positive for GHRP-6, also known as growth-hormone releasing hexapeptide. The Team Alpha Male member won’t be able to return to the octagon until 2018. The 31-year old hasn’t fought since December, where he suffered a first round knockout loss to Frankie Edgar at the TUF 22 Finale. Emil Meek out of UFC debut due to USADA conflict Welterweight Emil Meek has been pulled from his UFC debut against Jessie Ayari at UFC Fight Night: Arlovski vs. Barnett due to a potential conflict with the UFC’s anti-doping policy. According to MMAFigthing, Meek told USADA that he underwent medical treatment that might be out of compliance with the UFC’s anti-doping policy. Meek (8-2) is coming off the biggest win of his career where he knocked out WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares back in May. The Norwegian fighter has been placed in a USADA’s drug-testing pool for a period of four months before he can make his debut, which is why he has been removed from the card. Joanne Calderwood vs. Jessica Andrade slated for UFC 203 in Cleveland UFC officials announced Wednesday that Joanne Calderwood vs. Jessica Andrade has been added to UFC 203 in Cleveland. Calderwood (11-1) is coming off an impressive TKO victory over Valerie Letourneau, in a flyweight bout at UFC Ottawa back in June. She’s gone 3-1 in the UFC with victories over Letourneau, Cortney Casey and Seo Hee Ham. Andrade (14-5) had a successful strawweight debut in her last fight, stopping Jessica Penne at UFC 199 in June. Officials didn’t disclose a weight class for the bout.
