UFC Fight Night 90’s Alan Jouban: ‘I want to put away this guy early’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 90 welterweight Alan Jouban as he prepares for his upcoming main card fight this Thursday night (July 7, 2016) against Belal Muhammad at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The talented former RFA standout feels he’s gained his momentum back after his last fight and he’s hoping the hardcore fans can appreciate how impressive a victory over the debuting Muhammad will be:

“It’s a tough fight because [Belal Muhammad] is a very good fighter but he doesn’t have a name yet. It’s his UFC debut so in that regard, he’s not a step up for me. I don’t take him lightly. He’s undefeated, a title holder in Titan FC and he’s coming off a win over a very experienced guy in Steve Carl. In his mind, he has a lot of momentum and he should be very confident. I was planning to face Nordine Taleb before he got injured and I was really looking forward to that fight, hoping to put Nordine away. With Muhammad, I’m hoping that the UFC hardcore fans realize his potential. Either way, the gameplan hasn’t changed. I’m coming out to make a statement. I want to put this guy away. I don’t want to be just another guy in the UFC. I know I have the potential to be in the top 15. I need to put away more people like in my last fight. I want to do the same thing, put away this guy early and grab a big fight after this.”
