MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: Legacy FC 19 Closing Odds & Results

Will-Campuzano Legacy FC 19 took place tonight at Allen Event Center in Dallas, Texas, and Several Bookmakers offered MMA odds for all six of the event’s fights that were aired on AXS TV. Overall, four favorites won, while two underdogs cashed. Here’s a betting recap for the event based on the closing MMA odds: LEGACY FC BETTING FAVORITES THAT WON In the main event of the evening, Will Campuzano defeated Alan Nascimento via unanimous decision to retain the Legacy FC flyweight title. Campuzano was awarded scorecards of 49-45, 48-46, and 48-46, although it should be noted he was deducted one point for illegal back of the head shots during the bout. Overall, it was a very dominant victory for Campuzano, who used his wrestling to control Nascimento, but it probably wasn’t enough to get him back in the UFC, at least not just yet. Campuzano closed as a -230 favorite (bet $230 to win $100), while Nascimento was a +170 underdog (bet $100 to win $170). In the co-main event of the event, featherweight Georgi Karakhanyan won a unanimous decision over veteran Din Thomas, the judges scoring it in his favor by scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28. It was the biggest win of Karakhanyan’s career and his sixth victory in a row since his release from Bellator. Expect the UFC to consider signing Karakhanyan, although it would have been much better for him had he finished Thomas, who fought many times in the UFC. Karakhanyan closed at -310, while closed at +210. In a light heavyweight matchup, BJJ aced Robert Drysdale continued to stay undefeated in mixed martial arts as the black belt tapped out veteran journeyman DJ Linderman with a rear-naked choke at 1:48 of round one. Drysdale is now 6-0 in MMA with all wins coming via first-round submission, so look for the UFC and Bellator to give him a look. Drysdale closed at -400, while Linderman closed at +280. In a bantamweight bout, Matt Hobar continued his win streak by winning a unanimous decision over Nelson Salas, with all the judges scoring it 29-28 for Hobar. Hobar has now won six of his seven career fights with the only loss coming via injury TKO. At 5’10” and 135 pounds, he’s certainly an interesting prospect, but needs more finishes. Hobar closed at -300, while Salas closed at +220. LEGACY FC BETTING UNDERDOGS THAT WON In a featherweight fight, George Pacurariu defeated Steven Nelson via knockout to come through as a dog. The finish came from a punch at 3:42 of round one, and it upped Pacurariu’s win streak to four-straight fights. Pacurariu cashed as +195 underdog, while Nelson was a -275 favorite. In the very first fight of the evening, lightweight Rey Trujillo defeated Hunter Tucker via first-round submission (armbar) just 2:24 into the contest. Trujillo cashed at +195, while Jones closed at -275.
