RFA 38’s Nick Barnes: ‘I can pick and choose where the fight goes’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with RFA lightweight Nick Barnes as he prepares for his main card bout this Friday night (June 3, 2016) against Jose Diaz at The Hanger in Costa Mesa, California.

The talented veteran really feels his wrestling and improvements in his well-roundedness will be key for this upcoming contest:

“My base has always been wrestling. I wrestled all through high school and I’ve always had a good ground game. I really wanted to focus on my striking so I can pick and choose where the fight goes. If my stand-up is on point, I can keep the fight standing. If they try to take me down, I’m gonna stuff the shots. If I decide that it goes to the ground, then I take them down, that’s where my mind’s at.”
