Cruickshank (16-8-1 NC) has lost three straight fights to Beneil Dariush, James Krause and most recently Paul Felder. All of his three losses were by submission. Prior to the losing streak he had amassed an impressive 6-3- 1 NC record in the UFC including wins over Yves Edwards, Eric Koch and Anthony Njokuani.   Episode 2 UFC 196 Embedded   Result stands in Ashlee Evans-Smith’s controversial split decision win over Marion Reneau Marion Reneau’s loss at UFC Fight Night 83 will still be on her record despite a questionable scorecard last week. Per MMAFighting, Pennsylvania Athletic Commission director Greg Sirb said that he has reviewed the disputed fight between Reneau and Ashlee Evans-Smith has decided to uphold the split decision victory. Evans-Smith won matchup on scores of 30-27, 29-28, 28-29. The issue stems from the judging in the opening round as Reneau appeared to have won the first. She rocked Evans-Smith and landed a tight guillotine choke just before the closing bell rang. Two judges, Phil Rogers and Andrew Adkins, both scored the round for Evans-Smith. Reneau has now lost two-straight fights for the first time in her career.   Matt Mitrione set to appeal TKO loss to Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 81 Veteran MMA Journalist Duane Finley reports that free-agent heavyweight Matt Mitrione is planning to appeal his TKO loss to Travis Browne with the the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission (MSAC).  Browne beat Mitrione by TKO in the third round Jan. 17 in Boston. Mitrione is filing on due to the alleged series of referee errors and mentioned the following in the grievance. “My case is extremely strong, extremely valid. And I know a lot of times people have cases when they appeal something and it’s a very valid position and nothing ever happens, it doesn’t get overturned. Well, that’s bullsh*t. A lot of that problem, I think, is because the commission takes a lot of pride in who they hire and they don’t feel like they can be accountable for those mistakes. People f*ck up. It happens. I don’t think the commission should take it on the chin like they apparently do and it shouldn’t be a shot at their ego. I actually got admonished for aggressively closing distance to strike, because Travis was bailing out, that’s madness to me. [The referee] acknowledges the fact that he missed the foul, because he knew it was a finger that caused that poke, and warns Travis, but doesn’t stop the fight. The fact that it’s gonna stick on my record as a loss with no asterisk on it because I had the balls to carry forward versus just stopping — that’s madness.”
