Five Crazy Props that Cashed Big for UFC Fight Night 83

021915-UFC-Fight-Night-Sean-Strickland-PI-CH.vadapt.955.high.0Five Crazy Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five crazy UFC Fight Night 82 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakerss. 1) Sean Strickland by T/KO +481 Strickland came through with the best performance of his professional mixed martial arts and scored the biggest win of said career with a third round TKO of TriStar Gym product Alex Garcia. “Tarzan” was getting the better of Garcia throughout the contest until ultimately finishing him with punches on the feet at the tail end of the first stanza. Garcia hurt his leg and became wobbly, allowing Strickland to capitalize with a combination which ended with a punch that dropped Garcia to the canvas, forcing the referee to step in and call the fight. Strickland scores the impressive third round TKO, and with it, bettors cash a cool +481 on the prop. If you were wise enough to be on that one, congratulations. 2) Nathan Coy by Decision +343 Coy put his veteran experience and wrestling to use against Jonavin Webb, grinding him out for a hard-fought three rounds of action for a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. It was a very important fight for the 37-year-old, who saved his spot on the UFC’s welterweight roster with the much needed victory. The prop for Coy winning by decision cashed at a nice +343, and it was a wager I recommended making in my props article for the card, so congrats to those who tailed me on that one. 3) Ashlee Evans-Smith by Decision +420 Evans-Smith went to battle with Marion Reneau for 15-minutes and took a controversial split decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. While many, including myself did not agree with the decision, there is no doubting Evans-Smith fought her heart out and left everything she had inside the Octagon. Those who took a shot at her winning by decision at +420 saw a nice payday, so congrats to you if you’re one of the lucky sons of beaches who hit that. 4) Lauren Murphy by T/KO +375 Murphy was arguably down two rounds headed into the third and final round, and she came on strong, pouring it on Kelly Faszholz and eventually stopping her with a ground and pound TKO with just seconds away from the final bell. After being robbed in a decision against Liz Carmouche in her previous outing, Murphy did not want to leave this one in the hands of the judges. If you wagered on her to earn the finish, then congrats are in order. I played it safe and took Murphy Inside the Distance, and that was a nice payday, as well. 5 Shamil Abdurakhimov by Decision +424 Abdurakhimov got the better of Jackson-Wink MMA’s Anthony Hamilton for the majority of three rounds of action to pick up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. This was not a very eventful bout, but the Dagestani did try to end the fight on the feet in every round. He found success in keeping the fight standing and was clearly the superior, more capable striker. If you picked him to win this card and favored a victory on the judges’ scorecards, then congrats for cashing that +424 prop. A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $333,025.
