Toutmaster 2016 – UFC 195 Results

ToutMaster 2016 got under way Saturday with a loaded UFC 195 card. For those unfamiliar with ToutMaster, our very own TheMMA-Analysis Podcast hosts organized a contest at the start of 2015 to determine the top MMA prognosticator. The rules are simple, pick a winner for every single fight in the UFC in the calendar. If the “favorite” in the fight wins, a person gets one point for picking that fight correctly. If the underdog wins, the person who picked the underdog gets underdog points for that fight. For example, if a fighter is a +200 underdog and wins, a person who chose him in ToutMaster would be awarded two points. At the end of the year, whomever has the most points wins the pool. In the 2015 edition of ToutMaster, Kyle Marley (@bigmarley3) won the inaugural competition against 46 other competitors. ToutMaster 2016 has seen a significant increase in competitors as the field has increased from 46 to 117 as everybody looks to supplant Kyle as this year’s ToutMaster. After the first event here are the top 10: TM-UFC195 staff writer and co-host of TheMMA-Analysis podcast Brad Tashchuk (@bradtashchuk) is the overall leader with 13.8 points. He picked 11 of 12 fights correctly with Brian Ortega his only miss on the entire card. Defending champion Kyle Marley is off to another strong start sitting alone in second place after event one. Brad’s TheMMA-Analysis podcast co-host, @seancareytattoo, rounds out the top three. For a look at the entire standings, check out this link:   Some additional notes on the first card: Favorites to win: 7 Underdogs to win: 4 Biggest Underdog to win: Alex Morono (2.6 points) Biggest Consensus Pick: Michael McDonald (105) / Masanori Kanehara (12) Most Contentious Pick: Tony Sims (56) / Abel Trujillo (61)   Next event is UFC Fight Night 71 On January 17. Will Brad continue to hold off 2015 champion Kyle Marley? Or will someone else rise to take the lead? Whatever happens, it should be another fun competition.
