Titan FC 35’s Rick Hawn: ‘Our grappling styles might counteract each other’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Titan FC 35 lightweight Rick Hawn as he prepares for his upcoming main event title fight this Saturday (September 19, 2015) against Pat Healy at the Clark County Fairgrounds Events Center in Ridgefield, Washington.

The former Bellator title challenger expects to have an edge in the striking realm and he’s hoping his judo experience will be used in reverse to keep the fight standing:

“It’s a good fight, a tough fight for me. [Pat Healy’s] a guy with good experience. He’s a grinder. He’s fought some tough guys and beat some tough guys. But I’ve been up there with some tough guys myself. I think our grappling styles might counteract each other. He’s a decent wrestler and I have a decent judo background so we’ll see how that goes. I think I’m a little bit of a better striker. I think I’m faster and more powerful so hopefully I can use that during this fight.”
