MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 139 lightweight Dave Rickels as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout tomorrow night (June 26, 2015) against John Allessio at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas.
The former Bellator title challenger expects a fun scrap against Allessio, but he feels he has unfinished business against the former champion Michael Chandler who defeated him in that title fight:
“[John Allessio] throws up submissions pretty well. He even lands takedowns in his fights so the guy’s pretty dangerous everywhere. Here’s how I’m looking at this fight. I’m expecting one of the best John Allessios to show up. If he doesn’t, then he’s in fucking trouble. But if the best John Allessio shows up and the best Caveman shows up, we’re gonna put on a god damn good fight. That’s what I’m expecting. That’s who I’m expecting to see out there. What I really believe is I don’t think he can take it from me. This is where you start seeing me climb up. My mind is in a better place. My training’s going better… [If I win and don’t take any damage] I want Michael Chandler the very next weekend. Hell yeah. If I went out injury free, yes 100 percent.”
