MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 66 middleweight Gegard Mousasi as he prepares for his upcoming co-main event bout this Saturday morning (May 16, 2015) against Costas Philippou at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.
The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has had mixed results in the UFC since dropping down to the middleweight division and he hopes an impressive performance will get him back in the mix amongst the top contenders in the division:
“I want to have a dominant performance. I need to dominate [Costas Philippou] and I need to finish him. That’s my goal for this fight. At the end of the year, I don’t know how the landscape will look like, but I need another fight against a bigger guy, a top seven guy above me and finish that opponent as well. Once I knock them out, it’s gonna make a statement in itself, and then I can say some crazy stuff and get attention.”
