Live Dogs for the Main Card of UFC Fight Night 65 in Australia

Sean_OConnellUFC Fight Night 65 Date: May 9, 2015 Arena: Adelaide Entertainment Centre City: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to return to Australia on Saturday, May 9th with UFC Fight Night 65: Miocic vs Hunt. The event will feature an entirety of 12-bouts, all live on UFC Fight Pass. Preliminary action will get going at 7:45pm ET with eight bouts, and the four-fight main card will get underway at 11pm ET. If interested in wagering on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my live dogs for the UFC Fight Night 65 main card: Light Heavyweight bout: Anthony “The Hippo” Perosh (-170) vs Sean “The Real OC” O’Connell (+150) Fight Prediction: O’Connell has the advantage of being the younger fighter heading into this scrap, as well has advantages in striking and power. I think the trio will be enough for him to get his hand raised against Perosh; I could see it coming on the judges’ scorecards after three rounds of action, but more often than not, I think he gets the job done with his hands, earning is second consecutive T/KO victory inside the Octagon. I think Perosh’s only chance at victory is to take O’Connell down and submit him, and while that is a realistic possibility, I think O’Connell’s grappling defense is good enough to keep the fight on the feet, and if taken down, stay out of danger. I think O’Connell should be a -180 betting favorite heading into this match-up, so I love him at his current underdog tag of +150. Gabe’s Call: O’Connell by T/KO (punches, 1:41 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: O’Connell (+150) 4u to win 6u Lightweight bout: Jake Matthews (-155) vs James Vick (+135) Fight Prediction: I think Vick should be a -140 favorite headed into this 155-pound affair, so I see great value in him at his current underdog price of +13. I think their grappling will cancel each other out, and I give the edge on the feet to Vick. I think he will find success in keeping this fight standing, where he will outstrike Matthews for at least two out of three rounds en route to picking up a unanimous decision victor on the judges’ scorecards. I wouldn’t be surprised if he catches Matthews in a submission with his long limbs, but I think a decision is more likely. The downside is that when it hits the scorecards, there’s the risk that Matthews could get the hometown decision. Gabe’s Call: Vick by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Vick (+135) 3u to win 4.05u
