Your Best Bets for UFC on FOX 14’s ‘Fight of the Night’

Chris-Beal_pUFC on FOX 14 Date: January 24, 2015 Arena: Tele2 Arena City: Stockholm, Sweden The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Sweden this Saturday night (Jan. 24, 2015) with UFC on FOX 14: Gustafsson vs Johnson. The event will feature an entirety of 12 fights, including a four-fight main card that will be live on FOX at 8pm E. Preliminary action precedes it at 5pm on FOX Sports 1, with a pair of bouts coming before that on UFC Fight Pass at 4pm ET. To place a wager on this prop, or any others for UFC 182, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. I believe these UFC on FOX 14 ‘FOTN’ contenders hold the most value: Gustafsson/Johnson +175 — I am in agreement with the odds on this, as I think the chances of this fight taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors is head and shoulders above any other bout on the UFC on FOX 14 fight card. I think these 205-pounders are going to battle it out for all 25 minutes of action and it is more than likely going to be an entertaining main event match-up. Gustafsson and Johnson are amongst the fighters in their division that have shown ridiculous improvements from fight to fight in recent Octagon appearances. Regardless of how the rest of the night plays out, I think there is a very good chance that this main event wraps the fight night up on a high note. Should these two take home the bonus, it would mean the third time for the Swede, who scored one in each of his last two outings; in a unanimous decision defeat against Jon Jones and then a second round TKO over Jimi Manuwa. For Johnson, it would be his second, as he earned one in a second round rear naked choke submission loss to Josh Koscheck back in 2009, when he was competed in the welterweight division. Beal/Seery +1050 — This flyweight bout will be the first fight of the night and I think it has a good chance of being a very entertaining fight. This is Chris Beal’s debut at 125-pounds following a pair of victories at 135-pounds, including the best flying knee knockout I have ever seen inside the Octagon. Beal and Seery are both talented, not to mention full of heart with no quit in them, which is often a recipe for bonus-worthy matchmaking. Regardless of the outcome to this contest, I believe both flyweights have a future in the division, and even if they don’t snatch up the evening’s bonus, I believe they will kick the fight night off on a high note. This fight will mark the third Octagon appearance for both flyweights, and should they earn the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the first time for both gentlemen. At the current betting price of +1050, there’s enough value to warrant a stab. I feel confident the main event will take home the prize, but should it somehow fail to live up to my expectations, I think this scrap could be a real contender. I was also eyeing Erokhin/Pesta +1250 for a stab but ultimately decided against it.
