Lombard had tons of hype behind him coming to the UFC from Bellator, but lost in his debut to Tim Boetsch at UFC 149, a close decision loss that many believe was the wrong decision. However, he lost the fight and now needs to prove to the UFC that he’s actually as good as advertised, and that his string of huge knockout victories in Bellator wasn’t a fluke. Palhares is also coming off a loss, a TKO at the hand of Alan Belcher at UFC on FOX 3. Palhares is known for his leglock submissions and has one of the nastiest heel hooks in MMA, but he was exposed badly in the Belcher fight. He’s also known for his mental lapses. However, the guy is extremely talented and if he can get this fight with Lombard to the floor, he has a good chance of winning. But that’s a big “if.” Adam’s Fight Prediction: Hector Lombard is an extremely strong guy and really, we all know that Rousimar Palhares’ only way of winning this fight is getting it to the floor and sinking in one of his famous leglocks. But Lombard is an Olympian in Judo and will be very hard to get down. He’ll stuff Palhares’ attempts to get him down and knock him out in the first. Adam’s Pick: Hector Lombard via first-round TKO (click for latest MMA odds). Adam’s Recommended Play: Hector Lombard ITD is paying plus money. I think that’s a steal. The fight not going the distance at around -200 is also a good bet.
