Bellator 132’s Virgil Zwicker: ‘Houston’s head butts opened the door for rounds four, five and six’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 133 light heavyweight Virgil Zwicker as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout against Houston Alexander this Friday (January 16, 2015) at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

The last time these two men faced each other, it was a close battle which resulted in a draw due to a point deduction after Alexander head-butted Zwicker. The Team Quest product reflected on their last contest:

“It goes both ways. [Houston Alexander] left the door open by head-butting me. If he had done what he was supposed to do, doing his gameplan, I don’t know. I thought I had beat him up a lot. He took me down three or four times. He had good control in those rounds, but every time I got to my feet I punished him. I was happy with a draw rather than a loss. I thought he had better control of me for a little bit. I knew I had hurt him and had a chance to finish him in that fight, but I got overzealous. I was trying not to gas out on five day’s notice. That being said, the head butts opened the door for rounds four, five and six and that’s what we’re doing on Friday.”
