Bellator 132’s Bubba Jenkins: ‘Karakhanyan won’t be fighting the same guy he trained with’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 133 featherweight Bubba Jenkins as he prepares for his upcoming co-main event bout against Georgi Karakhanyan this Friday (January 16, 2015) at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

The former All-American wrestler out of Penn State has trained with Karakhanyan in the past, but he expects to be a completely different fighter come Friday night:

“If [Georgi Karakhanyan]’s thinking that he’s going to fight the same person he trained against, he’s completely preparing for the wrong fight. That would be a very ill-willed thought on his process. The same mindset applies to me. I know how fast I’ve developed, how far I’ve come and how quickly I’ve learned. I have to believe other people are doing the same thing with their development. I know he’s automatically strong. You don’t get weaker if you work out and train like I know he has been. I know he loves to kick. That doesn’t leave. That’s a habit, just like I love to take people down and beat them up. As much as I want to gameplan to knock people out, but I go out there and shoot the hell out of them.”
