RFA 22’s Chidi Njokukuani: ‘I’m gonna have to force Gilbert Smith to stay on the feet’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with RFA 22 welterweight Chidi Njokuani about his upcoming headlining bout against Gilbert Smith this Friday night (January 9, 2015) at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The talented 26-year old has only lost one of his last eight bouts and he feels he’s very well prepared for the style of fighting Smith will bring to the table due to his training partners:

“I think I’m gonna have to force it to stay on the feet. I don’t expect him to want to stand up with me because he’s more of a grappling based guy. I don’t doubt that he’s not gonna come out throwing punches either… It’s crazy. one of my training partners is built the exact same way and he’s a southpaw and a wrestler. It was too perfect. Same height and everything. I’ve got Jon Fitch too.’
