UFC 181’s Johny Hendricks: ‘If Georges St. Pierre comes back, I’d love to rematch him’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 181 welterweight Johny Hendricks as he prepares for his upcoming main event title fight rematch against Robbie Lawler next Saturday night (Dec. 6, 2014) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The talented champion earned his second crack at the belt after reigning titleholder Georges St. Pierre stepped away from the sport in late 2013, and he’d love another crack at the Canadian legend:

“Okay, so if he come back, I would like that. I’d like to face GSP again, but thne again, there’s a part of me that says he did so much for the sport, why do you need to come back? Even though the last fight was a little sketchy, he still did so much for the welterweight division and for the UFC. If he comes back, that’s great, but if he doesn’t, he has a legacy that’s gonna be hard to beat. That’s not what I’m here to do, not beat it, but to set my own and that’s my goal right now. The welterweight class is freaking stacked right now and it’s probably as stacked as it’s been in a long, long time and if I can get through these guys, that’s a huge legacy of my own. If he comes back, that’s awesome, if he doesn’t, it is what it is, but I’d love to rematch him.”
