WSOF 14’s Derrick Mehmen: ‘He’s the least experienced, least skillful opponent I’ve faced so far’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 14 heavyweight Derrick Mehmen as he prepares for his upcoming title bout against Smealinho Rama this Saturday (October 11, 2014) at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The fight will be the co-main event of the card on NBC Sports Network.

The heavyweight title challenger discussed his career with WSOF thus far, and what his prospects are at becoming more of a face for the promotion:

“You know, I hope they do [promote me more]. Obviously with every relationship there’s good and there’s bad. For all the good things they’ve done, obviously I’ve had my arguments with them. Like being buried on the undercard my last two fights after knocking out Gracie. I think they might have been able to promote me a little bit better after having KO of the year for Inside MMA. They could’ve definitely ran with that. But is anybody perfect? No. People make mistakes. So, all I gotta do as a fighter is keep coming and perform. I think everything else will take care of itself. I’m giving them no choice but to promote me, basically.”
