WSOF 14’s Ryan Ford: ‘Jake Shields is pretty much the same fighter as always’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Serise of Fighting 14 welterweight Ryan Ford as he prepares for his upcoming main event bout against Jake Shields this Saturday (October 11, 2014) at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Canadian stand-out is currently riding a solid six-fight winning streak and he knows a victory over Shields would be by far the biggest of his career. He doesn’t expect any surprises though:

“I don’t think he’s gonna be any different. Jake’s a specialist when it comes to his ground work. He likes to grind out fights and if he can take it to the ground, obviously try for submission because that’s what he’s good at. I’ve been watching a lot of tape of Jake [Shields] and I’ve been watching him as long as I’ve been fighting. He’s pretty much the same fighter as always. He does come with that awkward stand-up.”
