Gabe Killian’s Main Card Parlay for UFC 177

ferguson032911UFC 177 Date: August 30, 2014 Arena: Sleep Train Arena City: Sacramento, CA UFC 177 will be live from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA for the second time in eight months with an eight-fight card, including a five-fight main card that will be live on Pay Per View at 10pm ET. If interested in making this parlay, or any wagers for this fight card, you can do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here is my main card parlay for UFC 177: Lightweight bout: Danny Castillo (+235) vs Tony Ferguson (-255) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Ferguson is the superior mixed martial artist in this match-up. He is more talented both on the feet and on the mat. He packs a lot more power behind his strikes and not to mention has the better chin of the two; in general, just a granite chin. I can see “El Cucuy” winning this fight via decision, but I think more often than not, he will be able to find a finish over Castillo within 15 minutes of action. I think the difference in hand speed and power will prove to be too much for Castillo, as will his quickness and versatility on the mat. I could see Ferguson knocking Castillo out, submitting him, outstriking him for a decision or even outwrestling him for a decision; there really are so many routes to victory for him, in my eyes, while the only ways I see Castillo winning this fight are by a fluke KO or a robbery decision. I think “El Cucuy” should be a much bigger favorite in this bout, so at the current Several Bookmakers betting line of -270 ($270 to win $100), I love him for the first leg of my main card parlay for UFC 177 in Sacramento. Gabe’s Call: Ferguson by Submission (standing guillotine choke, 4:43 round 1) Women’s Bantamweight bout: Bethe “Pitbull” Correia (-135) vs Shayna “Queen of Spades” Baszler (+125) Gabe’s Thoughts: “Pitbull” is the better conditioned athlete of the two and I think that will play the difference in this match-up, as Baszler begins to fade in the second and/or third round of action. When that happens, I think Correia will take full advantage and earn a stoppage. Her time away from the cage won’t play in her favor, either, athough the fact that she has given up drinking and her partying lifestyle may help. That said, I am expecting her to fade, eventually. I don’t think Correia will fade, so that means she will at least be able to win the third round. If she manages to win either of the first two, more likely the second since Baszler won’t be fresh in that round, then her chances of getting her hand raised would be pretty good. I believe the Brazilian’s cardio, aggression and volume of strikes in this women’s 135-pound scrap will be her ingredients for a victory tonight. I see a world of value with the Brazilian at the current Several Bookmakers betting line of -140 ($140 to win $100), so I will certainly be including it as the second leg for my UFC 177 main card two-way parlay. Gabe’s Call: Correia by Submission (rear naked choke, 3:23 round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Ferguson (-270) parlayed with Correia (-140) for +134 4.75u to win 6.4u
