Gabe Killian’s Live Dogs for UFC Fight Night 49

Neil MagnyUFC Fight Night 49 Date: August 23, 2014 Arena: BOK Center City: Tulsa, Oklahoma UFC Fight Night 49 will be live from Tulsa, Oklahoma this Saturday night for the first time in a decade. The six-fight main card will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm, with a preliminary card to precede it at 8pm ET on FOX Sports 2. If interested in wagering on these props, or any other plays for this fight card, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. My live dogs for UFC Fight Night 49 are: Welterweight bout: Alex Garcia (-145) vs Neil Magny (+125) Gabe’s Thoughts: I slightly favor Magny to pick up the win here in this welterweight contest largely in part to the height and reach advantage he will have over Garcia heading into the bout. I think Garcia’s best chance at victory is to stop Magny. I could see him edging a decision on the judges’ scorecards, but more often than not I see the nod going to Magny should the judges get involved. His footwork and execution of the jab are going to be his tools to victory in this bout. I could see him completely freezing Garcia, but I expect it to be a closely contested bout and think Magny should be the slight favorite, so I will be making a small value play on him. Gabe’s Call: Magny by Majority Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-29) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Magny (+125) 1u to win 1.25u Welterweight bout: Ben Saunders (-360) vs Chris Heatherly (+300) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Saunders is being really over-valued in this match-up, as I feel Heatherly is a very game opponent, even on short notice. I see this fight ending inside the distance and I lean with Heatherly to get the finish over the veteran. I think the promotional newcomer is a legitimate live dog here, and at +300, I do favor him for a small value play. Gabe’s Call: Heatherly by Technical Submission (guillotine choke, 0:48 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Heatherly (+300) 1.25u to win 3.75u
