UFC Fight Night 47’s Lauren Murphy: ‘A lot of UFC women’s fights haven’t been good lately’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 47 women’s bantamweight Lauren Murphy as she prepares for her upcoming preliminary card bout against Sara McMann this Saturday (August 16, 2014) at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.

The reigning Invicta FC women’s bantamweight champion enters the UFC with a ton of confidence and she’s hoping to bring a better skillset to the promotion than she’s been seeing in recent fights:

“My main concern with my career in MMA right now where I’m at in the UFC with the things that I’ve done is I want to have good fights. I want to put on good fights for the fans and I want them to remember me for those good fights. To me, that comes first before being the UFC bantamweight champion. I think there’s been a lot of fights in the women’s division especially lately that haven’t been very good and it pisses me off. I don’t like watching. It just makes me angry at the women that are in there that are not showing a proper skill-set. We hold them men to a high standard and I think we need to hold the women to the same standard. That’s what’s going to keep us in the UFC.”
